Matthew Gast, Aerohive

Biography

Matthew Gast is the Director of Product Management at Aerohive Networks, where he leads development of the core software technologies in Aerohive's fully distributed Wi-Fi network system. He currently leads the Wi-Fi Alliance's security task groups, and is the past chair of the 802.11-2012 revision. Matthew is the author of three books on wireless LANs: 802.11 Wireless Networks: The Definitive Guide, 802.11n: A Survival Guide, and most recently, 802.11ac: A Survival Guide, all for O'Reilly

Abstract

Gigabit Wireless Networking with 802.11ac

802.11ac promises significantly increased speed and capacity for wireless network architects.  In this session, Matthew Gast will talk about how 802.11ac achieves its speeds, what those protocol features mean for network designers, and how to best build networks to support such high capacity. Along the way, he will also discuss other new protocol features and look forward into what the future holds for the wireless LAN
